Off The Record
was founded in 1992 to
meet the needs of young people by providing a high quality counselling service. Since then we've grown to incorporate training services and other projects targeted at young people.

We believe that all young people have the right to free and accessible advice, information and counselling to help alleviate the burden of social, cultural and economic oppression.

We are striving to achieve this by maintaining an independent, free, confidential counselling service that is centrally based for all young people between the ages of 13 and 28 who live in Tameside, Glossop and Oldham.

As members of the British Association for Counselling we follow their code of ethics and practice for counsellors. All our counsellors are trained and will treat young people as individuals; respect their opinions and not judge them. Teenagers
In Tameside we provide counsellors for the 10 – 13 age group who offer a service in selected schools as well as 1-2-1 sessions in Hyde and Ashton. We also have a Domestic Violence Project offering counselling for 11 –21 year olds living in Tameside, Glossop and Oldham who are suffering from domestic violence/abuse. The Information Shop Tameside
